The Autumn solstice took place on March 20. In the Southern Hemisphere we now experience longer nights & shorter days.
As the daylight hours get shorter, make the most of this time to hibernate, slow down & nurture yourself with nutrient dense warming foods & drinks.
It is really important to listen to your body, check in what it needs/wants each day. As this changes, just like the seasons.
Autumn is often depicted by the colour orange, so think orange vegetables & root vegetables. These are seasonal & help you ground. Lots of warming spices added to help with circulation so your body can get warm & stay warm.
I relish this time of year, it is almost a guilt free way of slowing down.
Be in total allowance & surrender.
Aim for more yin activities (embrace the feminine, going within) rather than the yang activities (the masculine, doing). We have a lot of warm summer months to embrace those doing activities.
The yin activities may include a slow walk, yin or restorative yoga, legs up the wall, a walk in nature, a gentle gym session, lots of board games, reading, craft, baking & connecting with family & friends over a hot drink. Take time to exhale & reflect on where you are at.
