3 Tips to Support Your Kidneys

Our kidneys filter approximately 200 litres of blood each hour & remove 1-2 litres of waste (urine).

To promote optimal energy, kidney health is important.

1. Drink enough pure water each day (herbal teas count as water, caffeine, alcohol & soft drinks dehydrate you more).

2. Aim for 7-9 hours of restorative sleep each night, to strengthen your kidneys and to allow time for the kidneys to adequately clean the blood & remove waste products in the morning urine. Otherwise, they get sent to the skin for excretion (the largest eliminatory organ).

3. Do regular restorative movements (yoga, t’ai chi or qi gong), with specific poses or movements to support the kidneys. With the added benefit of diaphragmatic breathing to reduce stress.
