Do you feel anxious?
Anxiety can present in many ways, including continual worry, interrupted sleep patterns, irregular bowel movements, inability to perform daily tasks, panic attacks, social phobia, inability to concentrate, constant fear, increased sweating and shallow breathing.
As a Naturopath the aim is to decrease the anxiety and associated presenting symptoms. I want to make the client feel safe and remove the associated fear while improving their daily quality of life. For some people anxiety can be debilitating and they can feel very alone and often isolated.
It is important to address underlying triggers and stimulants that may be aggravating this condition. Supporting the Gut and nervous system is important, while assisting the client with sleep onset and maintenance to allow the body to heal and recover from the stressors these can place on the body.
Helping to bring the client back into a place of Parasympathetic Nervous System (PSNS) dominance or rest and digest, to allow optimal digestion, bowel movements and nourishment for the nervous system.
It is important to help the client recognise their individual cues and provide them with some lifestyle tips to assist. These can include deep breathing https://www.artofliving.org/au-en/yoga/breathing-techniques/alternate-nostril-breathing-nadi-shodhan

There are many beautiful herbs that can support the individual during these times, these include Valerian, Kava, Passionflower, Ashwagandha, Lemon Balm and Chamomile.
Magnesium is very supportive to the nervous system and is depleted more during times of increased stress.
If you need help with anxiety or any other health concerns, I would love to work with you on your journey to increased health and wellbeing.
Remember to celebrate all the amazing things you are doing well and be very kind to yourself.
